For me, definitely ‘the shining’. I saw that when I was home alone at age 9, flipping through channels and somehow I just had to know what happened. Well, I had to turn on 6 nightlights throughout my room, set a tennis racket within arms reach at night, and had my giant teddy bear Mrs. Fuzzy standing guard.
I thought Hellraiser 2 was pretty disturbing; scarier than the first one.
